Osteopathy
Osteopathy is an approach to manual therapy that is based on a philosophy that the human body has an innate ability to heal and self-regulate. The osteopathic treatment approach considers the relationships and connections between the many structures of the body (i.e. tissues, fluids, organs, bones). The goal of treatment is to identify and address the primary cause(s) of dysfunction such that self-regulation/healing is optimized. It is through the application of finely trained palpation skills that the practitioner is able to identify and release restrictions. In an osteopathic session various manual techniques may be used such as visceral manipulation, craniosacral therapy, myofascial release and muscle energy.
